Sermons that lasted that long? God, what did you do to deserve that? You are that religious or it has to do with the whole 'I live in literal hell'? Do the sermons keep the demons at bay boring them to death?

Yeah, see, that's the thing about Fortuna. It's an island, isolated from the rest of the world and all that. We do trades mostly through sea and fishing. And almost everyone there is a big believer in the religion there, to the point where they'll be reluctant to talk or even help outsiders who visit. If you're not a believer, they'll know. So sermons and ceremonies could last anywhere from a few hours to the whole day.
