"The Qliphoth/Qlippoth/Qlifot or Kelipot, literally 'Peels', 'Shells' or 'Husks,' are the representation of evil or impure spiritual forces in Jewish mysticism, the polar opposites of the holy Sefirot."
The Qliphoth is the main troublemaker in Devil May Cry 5, and thanks to Nero and Vergil arriving in Asgard on the first day Yggdrasil started bringing Wanderers, they also brought demons along with them as well. While a few demons by themselves wouldn't be so bad, when they're residents of the Qliphoth, their first impulse is to build a new one, to solidify the connection to Hell from Asgard. It's a living tree that comes from Hell, and unlike many normal trees in the human realm? The Qliphoth is a living, breathing, and moving thing, capable of being home to many demons, and the main source of the Fruit. That's the main purpose of the tree- to grow and gain enough blood to produce the Fruit, an actual edible demonic fruit that gives the user utmost power, as well as the title of the newest Demon King. With a king, the demons have a leader to guide them in eventually taking over the human realm once more.
The tree itself seems much more like a skeleton than bark and branches with leaves, and the further in you go, the bloodier and more alive the environment becomes. In fact, some of the fastest methods of traveling to the top is through the "bloodstream," which is exactly what it sounds like- characters will need to push themselves into what looks like a bloody vein elevator, and be shot up through said vein to reach the next area. And once you come out? You're gonna be covered in blood, kids, there's no way around it. It only gets more disgusting from there.
Demons run aplenty in the tree itself, often showing up via oozing/bubbling puddles from the floor or walls, so careful where you step. The common ones stay to the bottom, while the rarer ones will be found more towards the top. You'll know one is nearby if red webs form across an entry or otherwise open path. In general, it's suggested that no one goes off on their own (unless it's Dante and co because they're them and they know this shit already), demons like to pick off people where they see them, and the Qliphoth is in need of more blood all the time. Demon blood is nice, but human blood is what it thrives on, so try to be careful.
Overall, it's a highly dangerous place, and one that should be given extreme caution upon entering it. You can never exactly tell what may or may not be lurking just around the corner.
