[Glimmer already knows where the cottages are, having been in Shadow Weaver's. Which means that it's two teleports and twenty seconds after Nero hits send that there's a flash of sparkles in his living room, and a very stern looking Glimmer who is clearly overcompensating for her concern.]
[There is, admittedly, a small swell of petty pride at getting a spook out of the man, but she keeps it in check as she moves to sit on one of the couches.]
I know Adora's been here for a few months, so things might have changed, but I've known her - not this exact version of her, at least, the future her - for years. She's scared, and if there's something she's not telling me it's because she wants to try and handle it on her own. She's obsessed with the idea that she has to be perfect all the time, without anyone else helping her. I know it's a Horde thing but it's still... ugh.
[That. Might be a bit more of a vent than she intended, and she takes a breath as she brushes some stray waves out of her face.]
This isn't going behind her back. This is just... getting something she's going to tell me anyway out in the open faster. [Her tone turns wry, trying to lighten the mood.] Hey, maybe she'll even thank me for not making her have to say it.
[Even if it's not what he expected, he settles into a seat right by her, listening. For the most part, what she says absolutely lines up from what he's been able to discern from being friends with Adora so far. Good to know he's not wrong there, at least.
She wants to try and handle it on her own. Glimmer may not mean to, but her words hit hard for him. It's a striking resemblance to Dante, especially when he kept pushing Nero away from finishing the job with the qliphoth. His uncle is a fucking idiot when it comes to those sorts of things. Nero sighs, pulling at his face.]
Yeah, I know the type. Not the whole "perfect" sense, more the "handle it on their own" without any help.
[But, right. Glimmer wants the whole story, and he said he'd give it to her. So he settles back into the seat and breathes through his mouth.] If she comes after me for this, I'm totally blaming you.
For the most part, it was pretty uneventful. Got into the lighthouse, got shit moved, made sure it got fixed. Adora came as like. A taller version of herself? Haven't seen her like that before.
[A beat.] We were all leaving the lighthouse when shit went south. I was out in the front with part of the group when I heard Wu Xie go tumbling in the back. He yelled about the purple shit and that's when we saw it.
[Nero hesitates here, pausing, unsure if he has the right to say it, but pushes forward anyway.]
Adora was possessed by it, and she was trying to go after anyone she could.
The giant version of Adora's called She-Ra, she's kind of a magical hero on our planet. [Interesting word choice there.] She's... more powerful, and can use magic properly - she uses it when we're in actual fights.
[She knots her fingers together nervously.]
It's happened before, actually. That she's gotten infected by something as She-Ra and gone on a-- a murderous rampage, but... before, it was because of a First Ones' virus. We destroyed the source disc and it stopped affecting Adora, but this feels really different. She's herself and she's infected and hurting people, and... I can't imagine how terrifying that must be for her.
She-Ra. [That is... a very long pause as his brows go up, not saying anything else but definitely surprised at that little tidbit. Well, it's not too different from him with devil trigger, but still.]
Yeah, she hits like a truck. I fought her to make sure everyone else could get out of the way and to bring her back. There was no way I was gonna leave her like that, pretty sure everyone else felt the same.
[Though this information is new to him, and he tilts his head at it.]
Yeah, I don't- from what Abel told me, it actively seeks to infect anyone it can injure. Which is why she was so adamant on trying to hurt us. [A beat.] The more the purple stuff possesses, the worse it is for us.
[Adora as She-Ra possessed is terrible, a horrific thing. But if it sunk its claws in Nero? It'd be even worse, because the known way to get rid of it is by holy means- and on a part demon? That's an awful time.]
Well yeah, she's the Princess of Power. [She says like it's obvious, a moment of fire despite the circumstances that fades quickly.] But... yeah. If that can infect everyone that makes her really dangerous.
[She lifts a hand and traces a circle in the air: her fingers leave trails of light behind that form a glowing blue glyph, but before she can complete the circle it flickers out of existence. With the way her hand flinches back, it probably wasn't intentional.]
I... there's more than just me that can use magic. If we get someone going on one of those rampages again, I know a spell that can trap people in a magic circle. You can't break it from the inside [as far as she's aware], so it could work to keep Adora - or anyone else - from hurting people.
Princess of what? [They have nicknames now? Yeesh.] Yeah well, there's a lot of us I'm sure we don't want infected, myself included.
[Though the magic she does from her fingers does interest him- he tilts his head, eyes following as she traces the pattern out.]
That's probably one of the best ways to keep someone contained. That thing really didn't like being pinned and kept in one spot so we could essentially knock it the fuck out. [It nearly scratched him at least once, thank god for ephemeral claws and arms.] Best bet is to tell any of the priests or holy members about it, they could use that.
Sorry not sorry Nero
Okay. So what happened?

Nero nearly draws his gun, his demon screaming in his ears about a threat, an enemy, something is here-
And it's Glimmer. Oh. He recognizes those sparkles anywhere. His shoulders ease up and he snaps at her out of habit.]
Fucking warn me next time, jeez.
[A sigh, and he pinches the bridge of his nose.]
It's. Complicated. Sit down, we're gonna be a bit.
